The Association of Restaurant Owners for a Sustainable Earth is a membership driven organization advocating earth-sustaining practices in the food service industry. AROSE members agree that supporting and participating in processes that produce new environmentally beneficial products using the organic wastes that result from restaurant and food service operations is a significant way our industry can maintain our planet for this and future generations. We support:
|
 |
- Reuse of organic wastes that would otherwise end up deposited in landfills, potentially polluting ground water, and reducing property values in communities
- Reuse of organic wastes to replace fossil fuels, producing cleaner burning fuels, reducing air pollution, generating cost savings, and reducing U.S. dependency on foreign sources of fuel oil
- Reuse of waste products to supplement composting for crop production which reduces the use of harmful pesticides, herbicides, and chemical fertilizers, therefore reducing contamination of surface waters, promoting carbon sequestration, and also providing nutritive livestock feed
- Research and new technologies that find cost effective uses for residual wastes of the food service industry
- Efficient, cost effective waste removal services for restaurateurs and food service operators that find beneficial, earth-sustaining uses for collected waste products
